The bridge generation

CTI in Arma Reforger

Arma Reforger has no official CTI — its Conflict mode is the closest thing to it. If you came from Arma 2 or Arma 3 looking for Warfare or BECTI, Conflict will feel familiar in shape but lighter in depth. Here is exactly what carries over, what's missing, and where to get the full Capture The Island experience today.

What Conflict mode is

Conflict is Reforger's flagship multiplayer scenario: US and Soviet forces fight over a network of capturable points and bases across the island. Supplies are the lifeblood — you haul them to build base services, spawn vehicles and enable respawns — and seizing radio relays extends your side's reach across the map. It is a genuine territory-control war, and at its best it captures the old CTI feeling of a front line that actually moves.

Conflict vs classic Warfare/CTI

What Conflict keeps from the CTI formula:

  • Persistent large-scale territory control on one big map
  • Base capture and base building via a supply economy
  • Long matches where logistics and map control decide the war

What it drops — the parts that define classic CTI:

  • No commander seat. Nobody plays the RTS layer — no one places the base, directs AI squads or steers the team economy.
  • No town income economy. Supplies are hauled, not earned from held towns, so there is no escalating war chest.
  • No tech tree. The rifles-to-tanks-to-jets escalation arc that gives CTI matches their shape doesn't exist.
  • No AI armies. A quiet server is a quiet war — there is no AI commander keeping both sides fighting.

Community scenarios on the Reforger Workshop rebuild some of these pieces — worth searching the Workshop for CTI-tagged scenarios if you want to see Enfusion-era experiments — but the complete formula isn't there yet.

Where to play full CTI today

The complete experience — commander, town economy, tech tree, AI armies — is alive on Arma 2. Miksuu's Warfare runs a public Arma 2 Warfare (CTI) server on Chernarus and Takistan, rebuilt with an AI commander that fights to win at any player count. How to join · Getting started · Commander guide

And then: Arma 4

Reforger is the bridge — Bohemia has been explicit that it is the testbed for Arma 4, announced for 2027. We are carrying our CTI lineage across that bridge: our Arma 4 CTI plans and everything known so far.

Frequently asked questions

Does Arma Reforger have CTI?

Not officially. Reforger's built-in Conflict mode is the closest experience — a territory-control war over capture points — and community scenarios on the Reforger Workshop add more CTI-style mechanics on top of it.

What is the closest thing to BECTI in Arma Reforger?

Conflict mode, plus CTI-flavoured Workshop scenarios. But Conflict lacks the commander seat, the town-income economy and the tech tree that define BECTI. For the full classic experience, Arma 2 Warfare servers like Miksuu's Warfare are still running.

Is Conflict mode the same as Warfare?

No. Conflict shares the territory-control skeleton — capture points, supplies, base building — but has no elected commander, no town income economy, and no research tree. It is a streamlined spiritual successor rather than a full CTI.

Will there be real CTI in Arma 4?

Bohemia hasn't announced Arma 4 game modes, but every Arma generation has had a CTI, and Miksuu's Warfare is committed to running an Arma 4 CTI server from launch.
