Miksuu's Warfare

Privacy Policy

Data controller

This community and its website are run by the Miksuu's Warfare operators — a volunteer community team, not a registered company. The operators decide what data is collected and why, and are responsible for looking after it. For any privacy or data-protection request, contact the operators through our Discord server (the invite is linked across the site).

What we collect

  • Discord ID — stored when you log in via the magic-link flow.
  • Steam ID — stored when you choose to link your Steam account (opt-in). Separately, if you play on the community game server, its stats feed reports in-game performance keyed by your public Steam ID, and those in-game stats are stored to power the leaderboard even when you have not linked an account. Linking simply connects that Steam ID to your Discord profile.
  • Voice-activity aggregates — total seconds per voice session, used to build your activity heatmap. No audio is recorded.
  • Boost status — whether you currently boost the Discord server.
  • Moderation reports — if you file a report, we store your Discord ID, the report category, who or what you're reporting, your description, and any evidence text you include.
  • Ban appeals — if you submit an appeal, we store your Discord ID, an optional contact you provide (so we can reach you), your appeal text, and any evidence. To limit spam, a one-way hash of your IP address is kept for a short time so the form can rate-limit submissions — we do not store your raw IP address.
  • Discord message edit/delete logs — for moderation, when a message is edited or deleted in the community Discord, our bot may copy the message content (the before/after text, or the content of a deleted message) into a staff-only Discord log channel. This is held in Discord, not in our website database, is visible only to the moderation team, and the bot automatically prunes its own log messages after a retention window.
  • Anonymous page analytics — page views and referrer data with no personal identifiers attached.
  • Legacy donator names — our Donate page shows a permanent "Legacy donators" wall of names drawn from past public donation announcements in our Discord. If you're listed there and would like your name removed, contact the operators on Discord and we'll take it down.

Why we collect it

We use this data to run the community and to let you see your own stats on your Profile page. Steam linking is entirely opt-in. Reports and appeals are used to moderate the community and to handle bans fairly. Anonymous analytics help us understand which pages are useful.

  • Consent — for linking your Steam account (you click "Link Steam").
  • Legitimate interest — for moderation (reports and appeals), anonymous page analytics, and basic security logging.
  • Necessity — for the login session cookie, which is required to authenticate you.

Retention

  • Login tokens are purged automatically when they expire.
  • Personal data (Discord ID, Steam ID, voice aggregates) is deleted within 30 days after you leave the Discord server.
  • Reports and appeals are kept while they're needed for moderation. When you delete your account, reports you filed are anonymised (the moderation record is kept, but your identity is removed) and your appeals are deleted. The anti-spam IP hash on the appeal form is short-lived and pruned automatically.
  • Anonymous analytics are anonymised after 90 days.

Processors

  • Discord — authentication and community membership.
  • Steam — optional account linking for in-game stats.
  • Cloudflare — the site is served through a Cloudflare tunnel, and the ban-appeal form uses Cloudflare's "Turnstile" anti-bot challenge. To do this, Cloudflare may process your IP address and a challenge token.
  • Patreon — payment processing for donations. We store your supporter status and linked Patreon ID; Patreon handles all card and payment details.
  • PayPal — payment processing for donations. We store your supporter status and linked PayPal payer ID; PayPal handles all card and payment details.

No data is sold or shared with advertisers.

Your rights

You can view, export, unlink your Steam account, or delete your data at any time from your Profile page.

  • Export gives you a JSON file of your data — your member record, linked Steam stats, voice activity, and any reports or appeals you've submitted.
  • Delete removes your member record and everything linked to it; reports you filed are anonymised (see Retention).

For any other request, contact the operators on Discord.
